چکیده
In this second part of the development a mechanistic kinetic model solar inactivation E. coli enhanced with hydrogen peroxide, we evaluate mechanisms based on photonic and integrate them into dark process developed in Part 1. The direct was modelled using series-event accumulation damage by photons it coupled used 1 for modelling caused radicals multiple target – hit model, including recovery constant to define ability cells face specific damage. Catalase superoxide dismutase inactivation, intracellular photo-Fenton reaction, overproduction O2•- NADH/NAD+ cycle under light were included model. Finally, synergistic effect thermal expression terms an Arrhenius equation. parameters obtained regression experimental data at different temperatures, radiation, as well initial cellular H2O2 concentrations. Our predictions can accurately describe SODIS H2O2, thus being very useful estimate disinfection profiles routes irradiance conditions, water temperature concentration. integrated mechanism SODIS/H2O2 is provided.

Effectiveness of solar disinfection (SODIS) in rural coastal Bangladesh.
Scarcity of drinking water in the coastal area of Bangladesh compels the inhabitants to be highly dependent on alternative water supply options like rainwater harvesting system (RWHS), pond sand filter (PSF), and rain-feed ponds. Susceptibility of these alternative water supply options to microbial contamination demands a low-cost water treatment technology. This study evaluates the effectivene...
متن کاملSpeeding up solar disinfection (SODIS): effects of hydrogen peroxide, temperature, pH, and copper plus ascorbate on the photoinactivation of E. coli.
Solar disinfection, or SODIS, shows tremendous promise for point-of-use drinking water treatment in developing countries, but can require 48 h or more for adequate disinfection in cloudy weather. In this research, we show that a number of low-cost additives are capable of accelerating SODIS. These additives included 100-1000 muM hydrogen peroxide, both at room temperature and at elevated temper...

background: tremendous amount of researches have investigated the issue of water photodisnfection. the aim of this research is to illustrate the influences of bacterial density, turbidity, exposure time and potassium persulfate (kps) dosage on the efficacy of associated solar disinfection (sodis) with kps for e. coli (atcc: 25922) eradication as an efficient and inexpensive process. methods: de...
متن کاملSolar water disinfection (SODIS): Impact on hepatitis A virus and on a human Norovirus surrogate under natural solar conditions.
This study evaluates the effectiveness of solar water disinfection (SODIS) in the reduction and inactivation of hepatitis A virus (HAV) and of the human Norovirus surrogate, murine Norovirus (MNV-1), under natural solar conditions. Experiments were performed in 330 ml polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles containing HAV or MNV-1 contaminated waters (10(3) PFU/ml) that were exposed to natural...
متن کاملDisinfection and Mechanistic Insights of Escherichia coli in Water by Bismuth Oxyhalide Photocatalysis.
This study demonstrates the potential of a new BiOCl0.875 Br0.125 photocatalyst to disinfect Escherichia coli in water under simulated solar irradiation. Photocatalytic efficiency was examined for different photocatalyst loadings, solar wavelengths, exposure times, photocatalyst concentration × contact time (Ct) concept and with the use of scavengers. To elucidate the inactivation mechanism, we...
